I have a one inch diameters proofing parrot what is the diameter of alcoholmeter?

Does it measure the percentage of Alcohol or only the proof?
The Brewing America Proof and Tralle Alcohol Hydrometer has two scales: the Proof and the Tralle scale. Using the Proof scale you can easily calculate your Alcohol by Volume percentage by dividing by two. Simply put if your liquor has a Proof reading of 80, then your Alcohol by Volume percentage is 40. (80 Proof = 40% ABV).

Can I use this to measure homemade hand sanitizer alcohol content?
It depends on your process or recipe you are using to make hand sanitizer. You will want to float your alcoholmeter in a liquid where there is only a distilled liquid being tested. Other compounds/chemicals/etc will interfere with the reading and/or possibly the ability to float. Once you have a reading on the distilled alcohol portion, then you could calculate by cutting based on volumes of the additional ingredients as you add them in.
